Visual Testing (VT)

Direct and remote visual inspection of structures, welds and equipment — the foundation of all NDT programmes.

What is VT?

Visual Testing & Inspection

VT is the most fundamental NDT method — involving direct or aided visual examination of components and structures for surface defects, corrosion, damage, dimensional conformance and workmanship quality.

PetroNDT performs both direct VT and remote VT using borescopes and videoscopes for confined spaces, vessel internals and inaccessible areas.

How It Works

Inspection Process

01

Pre-Inspection Setup

Review drawings, specifications and acceptance criteria. Set up appropriate lighting.

02

Direct VT

Conduct systematic visual examination using calibrated gauges and measuring tools.

03

Remote VT

Deploy borescope or videoscope for inaccessible areas, confined spaces and vessel internals.

04

Document Findings

Record all observations with measurements, photos and locations.

05

Reporting

Issue VT inspection report with findings, dimensions and accept/reject status.
